Training for Custody Officers -
Elizabeth, Helen and Clare have been training all of the Detention Officers from the police custody suites in Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth.
A custody suite is where people are taken after they have been arrested. Detention Officers look after people when they arrive, make sure they are safe, and do lots of other things like taking fingerprints and DNA samples.
We thought it was really important that the officers know all about learning disability, and the different ways that they can communicate with people to make their time in custody less stressful.

In June 2008 we started a new project all about quality.
We are looking at the places where people live and how they are supported. We are looking at how good Person Centred Reveiws are, and the difference that they can make to people's lives.
Project workers, Dan, Kerry, Sally and Anwar organised "How was it for you at your
reveiw?" -

We worked with Dorset PCT to write and publish a booklet for people with learning disabilities called "Love Sex and You". It is all about relationships and sexual health.
